University Malaya - Debate

This was the first time after more than 10 + years I returned to MU since my last visit...It was just too long ago...This time , I went there to listen to my son's debate. He was one of the team members representing Nottingham U , first-timer taking part in this debate in Mandarin.

After my lunch on Jan 9, Saturday afternoon, I left to MU , along my way , I was full of curiosity trying to find out what could have changed since I left MU about 30 years ago ... Well, It has changed a lots , at least now, the landscape is filled with more blocks of new building which was previously full of green . Today it looks so cramp now...


However, at least one thing still remained the same that the poor organisers who had taken their effort to organise the event were still needed to overcome many challenges ... I was told they were required to raise about rm 120k-150k to fund the whole event over few stages; More importantly..they needed the approval from the Varsity to provide the necessary venue to house the event ...and as usual ... with many last minute changes and adjustments ...

..finally the Event was taken place at IPS auditorium ,Institute Pengajian Siswazah ,

somewhere near sport complex

Look at his size.. This is my son Ying Hong , 2nd team member ... Surprise to note that his debating skills... I would said the team had fared Ok .. .lah !

Well, everything had to come to an end, the final result ,.. the WINNER awarded to TAR College , a more experienced and polished team. After the event , I went over to console and share with them some of their weaknesses ... Well ! I hope they could take this defeat as part of their learning process and move on from here . . .

Anyway , Well Done Nottingham team for your brave attempt !
